Editorial Standards
Generation Everything publishes practical, clear guidance for adults 45+ without fear tactics or patronising advice. These standards explain how we research, review and label what we publish.
How we research
We aim to build articles and resources on useful, credible ground rather than hot takes dressed up as authority. Depending on the topic, that may include primary research, official guidance, product documentation, expert commentary, hands-on use and editorial judgement.
We check factual claims before publication where reasonably possible and we update pieces when something material changes or when a better source becomes available.
How we review products and resources
When we recommend a product, service or resource, we look at usefulness, clarity, limitations, value and who it is actually for. We are not interested in recommending something simply because it is popular, expensive or easy to monitise.
Some recommendations are based on direct use. Others are based on research, comparison and editorial review. Where that distinction matters, we aim to make it clear.
How we label affiliate, sponsored and shop content
Where content contains affiliate links, we label that clearly. Where content is sponsored or produced in partnership, we label that clearly. Where we link to or mention our own shop, products or resources, we label that clearly too.
Readers should not have to play detective to work out what is editorial, commercial or both.
What we do not do
- We do not publish fear-based or manipulative content.
- We do not use fake urgency, dark patterns or misleading calls to action.
- We do not present opinion as evidence.
- We do not give medical, legal or financial instruction beyond our editorial remit.
- We do not pretend one product, routine or framework works for everyone.
Editorial independence
Commercial relationships do not buy favourable coverage. A product being monetisable is not, on it’s own, a reason for inclusion. We would rather recommend nothing than recommend something weak.
